Hi, I’m Christian Lowe

I’m a security engineer and DevOps specialist currently at Amazon, where I focus on building automation at scale. Before that, I spent five years at Rapid7 designing forensic pipelines that processed hundreds of millions of records, building incident response tooling, and creating automation that saved our team over 500 analyst hours per month.

My background bridges security, infrastructure, and software engineering. I’ve built everything from cloud-based data science platforms to distributed alerting systems handling 75,000+ daily notifications. I hold expertise in Python, TypeScript, AWS/CDK, Terraform, Ansible, and the full observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).

Outside of work, I run a homelab spanning multiple Docker hosts with 29+ services — all managed through infrastructure as code. That hands-on experience informs everything I write and build here.

What is LaunchStacks?

LaunchStacks is more than a blog — it’s a software shop focused on helping developers and startups ship faster without getting locked into expensive vendors.

What we offer:

  • Production-ready templates — IaC configurations, starter projects, and deployment patterns you can use today
  • Infrastructure consulting — Architecture reviews, cloud cost optimization, and self-hosted solutions
  • Custom development — AI agents, automation workflows, and tooling that integrates with your stack

What We Cover

LaunchStacks content focuses on practical, production-tested approaches to:

  • Self-hosted infrastructure — Running your own services instead of paying SaaS premiums
  • Cloud architecture — Building on AWS, GCP, or Azure while keeping costs minimal and avoiding lock-in
  • DevOps & automation — CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and operational tooling
  • Open source alternatives — Replacing expensive tools with battle-tested open source options
  • Building in public — Sharing the real process, including the failures and iterations

The goal is simple: help you build infrastructure that scales with your needs without scaling your bills.
